Fall for Art, Fall for Color, Fall for LEELANAU!
Fall is the perfect season to enjoy wine touring with the 19 wineries of the Leelanau Peninsula Wine Trail. There’s energy in the vineyards as grapes finish ripening and are harvested, pressed and started on the journey to become the 2011 vintage. There’s also a riot of color as the hillsides erupt in yellow, orange and red. Visit our Touring Leelanau section for some lodging and touring ideas!
We turn to Leelanau.com for a pair of items to help you on a fall journey. The first is their Fall Color Report.
Wednesday, October 4: Fall color is great right now and we will likely hit peak this weekend or the middle of next week. The good news is that there is a wide range of color with some areas at full color right now but many others showing significant green. That means we will continue to have color the weekend of the 15th and very likely the following weekend as well! Click for color touring links for Leelanau, the Sleeping Bear Dunes & Traverse City.
