Here’s the list of wine & food pairings along with the prizes for the 2011 Sip & Savor PJ & Hat Contest – there’s a whole lot of themes, so check your closet for the perfect hat or sleepwear!

The Grand Prize will be two nights lodging at The Homestead in Glen Arbor during any season of the year (subject to availability), dinner for two with appetizers and dessert at La Becasse in Maple City, Sunday brunch for two at the Bluebird in Leland and a wood fire pizza from Black Star Farms, perfect for lunch or light meal out on the trail and a pair of tickets to any LPVA Weekend tour or the Traverse City Wine & Art Festival!

Bel Lago is featuring their Pinot Grigio/Chardonnay blend paired with a Hearty Chicken Soup with Spring Vegetables and Wild Leeks. Their category is “Most Eye Opening” with a prize of a Gift Basket of Fair Trade Coffee from Higher Grounds Trading Company.

Black Star Farms will pair a caramelized leek and wild mushroom quiche with farm raised sausage and Leelanau Cheese fromage blanc with their 2009 BeDazzled. Their contest will be “Best bed head and hat” with a prize of a gift certificate to TASTES of Black Star Farms for a Matterhorn Grill dinner for two!

Chateau de Leelanau will pair Cherry Wine Sangria with a Pork Taco in celebration of Cinco de Mayo. They are seeking the “Best Cherry Theme” and the prize will be the famous CDL T-shirt!

Chateau Fontaine will present several variations of quiche (including vegetarian) paired with their Chardonnay. The are looking for the “best Hugh Hefner Ensemble” for PJs and for the hat “Best Kentucky Derby” with a prize of a $25 gift certificate to Chateau Fontaine for both catagories!

Cherry Republic will serve a Pork Tenderloin with a cherry white wine reduction with Cherry Couscous. Their category os “most furry or fuzzy pajamas” and the winner will take home a Cherry Republic Gift Box.

Ciccone Winery presents a tangy Asian-inspired salad featuring mouth-watering herbs and spice – the perfect companion for the soft floral bouquet and rich citrus flavors of their 2009 Gewurztraminer with their 2009 Gewurztraminer. Their PJ/Hat category is “Fabulous Floral” and the winner will receive a wine basket including two bottles of Ciccone Vineyards wine (one white – one red), two Ciccone wine glasses (which included free tasting with return visits with glass for life of the glass!!) and a $25 dollar gift certificate to Tuscan Bistro. ($100 total retail value)

Forty-Five North offers crispy, prosciutto-wrapped asparagus topped with parmesan and paired with their 45 White. They are seeking the most di-Vine-ly decorated derby hat, Snuggie, or Slanket and will present the winner with a bottle of 45 White, a private reserve tasting for 4 people and other Forty-Five North gear!

Gills Pier will pair a Cuban style rice/chicken dish with both their “Just Unleashed” red and their dry white Royce. They are planning a vegetarian variation as well. Their category is “Ugliest Flannel” and the winner will receive a taste and tour for 6!

Good Harbor will be serving curried carrot soup paired with their Riesling. Whoever has the best wine themed pajamas will take home a spa bag.

Good Neighbor Organic will present garlic rosted pork sandwiches with peanut coleslaw. Whoever has the best “EARTHY Hat or PJs” will receive a ggift package of Good Neighbor products.

Leelanau Cellars is featuring a Salmon Mousse and Red Pepper Dip with toasted Pita chips and green grapes paired with their 2008 Semi-dry Riesling.

L Mawby is offering individual quiche lorraines with onion, mushroom and a smoky pork paired with Fizz (with the option of a mimosa w/ US). The “Most Effervescent Couple” will receive a selection from the L Mawby logowear collection.

Longview is featuring their 2009 Pinot Gris with a salmon chowder. Their category has not been finalized, but the winner will get a Connoisseur Wine Opener.

Shady Lane is working on the right pairing and will offer a prize for “Most Leelanau” PJs or hat.

Silver Leaf will pair their 100% Lemberger (Purple Foot) with hand carved Roast Beef on Croissant. For “Best Wine Geek Hat” they will give away a Stan Fellows art print and for “Best After Wine Night Pajamas” the prize is a Wine Rack.

Willow is serving a Spiced Pear & Peach Ginger Crunch w/ Carmeal Topping paired with their 2010 Dry Gris. If you have the “Best Jungle Pajamas” you’ll get an Animal Print and a Basket for you and your pet!
