Join us the weekend of May 4-5, 2013 for the Leelanau Peninsula Vintners Association’s annual Spring Sip & Savor wine trail event. As our vineyards wake to the sun & warmth of May, we invite you to enjoy special wine and food pairings at each of the wineries on the wine trail and help support a the future of winemaking on the Leelanau Peninsula!
Tickets are just $35 and include wine and food pairings at each winery, a commemorative glass, a $5 gift certificate that can be used at any LPVA winery and a $5 donation to our new Winemakers Scholarship (details below).
2013 Sip & Savor Pairings & Prizes
Spring Sip & Savor has been designed to provide seasoned wine trail guests or first time visitors with a truly memorable experience that will allow them to celebrate spring, indulge their senses and learn more about Leelanau Peninsula wines. Most importantly it’s an event that delivers fun!
For added fun, event participants are encouraged to participate in our Sip o’ de Mayo Hat Contest try to win one of the prizes that many of the wineries will be offering and the fabulous Grand Prize of two nights lodging at The Homestead (subject to availability) and a pair of tickets to any LPVA Weekend tour or the Traverse City Wine & Art Festival!. We’ll also draw one vote at random from all those who voted and that lucky person will receive a pair of tickets to the 2014 Sip & Savor!
Visit up wineries in any order on Saturday from 11 to 6pm and Sunday from noon to 5pm. Tickets are limited and our events usually sell out, so be sure to order early!
Spring is also about new growth and planting in the vineyards we are very excited to sow seeds for a new project: The Leelanau Winemaker Scholarship. From every ticket sold to the Sip & Savor, we will add $5 to a new scholarship fund that will help local students become winemakers and vineyardists! We will be working with the Viticulture Enology Science and Technology Alliance on the scholarship. VESTA is a dynamic, 21st century collaboration between educational, government, and industry institutions across the nation who provides students access to online coursework and hands-on field experiences with area vineyards and wineries.
